Explorer disk brakes on a 9"

I've been looking at the various bolt on and weld on bracket kits for a 9" and I'm not really impressed with them. I see a few places like Currie offer an Explorer set up.

Anyone know if these kits are specially produced for the 9" or is it just standard parts off of an 8.8? Will a standard 8.8 backing plate fit the 9" big bearing pattern?

Not sure about the 8.8 stuff, but I used mark V stuff on mine with a 96 f150 front rotor, everything fits beutifully. Only had to grind the flange of the axle a very little bit.
