The 4wd on my '91 has been acting up lately. I crawled under this morning and noticed that there is a cracked wire on the electrical plug, opposite the shift motor on the front axle (D30). I'm assuming, which is never good, that it's the switch for the indicator lamp on my dash? If thats so my 4wd should still work right?

If its a vacuum disco front end, you may have vacuum line issues.
I'm in the middle of changing vacuum lines and replacing the motor/fork on the axle. I wasn't sure about that sensor so I wanted to double check. Thought about going with the Posi Lock but I just want to geting working for the winter that finally came. Maybe in the spring.

There are no electrical wires by the shift motor....just vac lines. The sensor is up on the firewall.
A cracked vac line will cause issues.
