hey all,
i have a pile of parts in my garage that i am trying to get on my XJ in time for Dixie Run at Tellico. In this pile is a NP231 and a AA SYE+ woody shaft.
i have a 1990 4.0/aw4/np242 combo right now, and i know it is 21 spline, and it should be short input. the np231 i have is a short 21 spline.
if i have to swap the input gears, then i would like to know beforehand so i can plan a long weekend to so the input gear swap and SYE all at once.
this is my DD as well as a pretty abused trail rig, but i dont have time to pull the np242 and look at the input, does anybody have a pic or knowledge off hand of how short the input is?
the input on the Np231 i have sticks out of the t-case just a tiny bit. maybe 1/2" or so.
