Cargo area drain plugs?

I just finished replacing the rear cargo floor area (from back seat to gate latch) with new sheetmetal,It was pretty swiss cheesed. I know there was some kind of factory drains in it. Are these really needed? I have completely sealed and rhino lined it and cleaned the quarter drains. It looks like alot of the corrosion was around these factory drains or whatever they were.
