Adjustable trac bar

I'am in the process of trying to buy a new trac bar and all the companys i see there trac bars only say good to 5-6 inchs on lift max and i have a 6.5 lift. Is there something iam saposed to midify? is there a company that makes one for my size? I saw an xj with a 7 inch lift that had an adjustable trac bar adjusted out and then he drilled a new hole in the axle mount and moved it over. Would this be what i would have to do?
any tips would be greatly appreciated
