Durango Power Steering Pump

Ok, so I'm doing a bunch of work to the XJ and thought while I was their maybe I will upgrade to the 99 Durango Power Steering Pump. Did a quick search of autozone.com and came up with this:

Now maybe it's just me, but $37 with a $14.60 core charge seems really, really cheap to me, even with a reservoir it seems kind of low. Am I missing something here?

you want the power steering GEAR box, and i assume a pump also i dunno maybe you pump would work. For 30 something bucks for the pump i wouldnt even waste my time trying i personally would just but the durango pump or maybe a quick search if the vans or full size have the same pump and go to the pick n pull.

Get the gearbox from carparts.com. You can snag a used one for about 60 bucks. Did it on my 89 and it worked fine. Also upgraded to the Crok plates and ended up replacing the pump as it started sucking air through the seals after I put the sythentic oil in it. JUst used a stock pump. If you want to get more out of the stock pump, pull the o-ring in the input port(I think) of the pump. There more info on doing this if you search.
