rtv and cold weather

Im going to try to do my open conversion tomorow Im working outside and its supposed to be around 35 deg out up here in wisconsin. I want to replace my t-stat but dont know about temp sensitivity of rtv sealants... can I do it?

I like mine at room temp or warmer. Seems to be easier to work with, IMO. Just keep it in the living quarters until you need to use it. That should keep it warm enough. :dunno:

Just hold the RTV under your armpit until you are ready to use it.

Seriously, just keep it warm. If the temps are below freezing, I would check your seal after everything has warmed up.

Id let it sit for at least an hour, then start up the engine. It'll help it set up a bit.

in the winter I sometimes abscond the household heating pad to help the rtv cure when doing diff fluid changes. think bungee cords...

btw, isn't the t-stat housing a gasket and indian head deal?!?
