The battery/charging system have become so critical on today's car that most any problem having anything to with the electrical system should start with checking the BAT/alt system. Yet it is so often over looked.
Yes, The computer keeps an eye on the voltage for you. But like any system it not perfect.
Check the water that is right, check the water. Even on so called low and no maintenance batteries. If the caps will come off check it.
Clean and inspect post and wires.
Charge and run a load/voltage test on battery.
Inspect belt for fit and fitness
Load ALT, rev engine watch for voltage out of spec.
Repair/replace as needed. Your done

i would just like to reinterate how important wires are. check your batt cables for exposed areas of wire and corrosion. especialy important if your battery is not the sealed type as acid can leak out and expidite the corrosion/breaking process.

if your cables are exposed, but still in great condition, seal them up fast to prevent oxidation inside the wire under the insulation from causing too much resistance not letting enough juice to get throu. it could even cause the metal to get brittle and break the circut.

dont foreget to clean the grounds too. even if they dont look corroded while attatched remove, clean, replace.

Also something you might mention is that's not water in there, it's sulphuric acid. If the PH drops to low it no worky-worky. You can usually buy more acid from a parts house. Can't remember how much it costs though.
