JKS Disco. Spherical bushing install

I got a set of used JKS disco's for next to nothing. The only thing is that one of the spherical bushings was shot. I ordered a new one and it arrived today.

I thought I might be able to just press it in. No dice. I lubed it up good with grease too. It gets to a certain point and the bushing just compresses, and tries to flatten out.

Next try is going to be heat the disco, and put the bushing in the freezer.

Anyone do this before?
Advise?

TIA fellas.

i just pressed them in using a ball joint press. it started to compress, but eventually squeezed all the way in.

Yeah, I don't know why I didn't think of that.:twak:

I don't have a BJ press but, I can borrow one from AutoZone in the morn.

Heated the bushing & used the vice. I told him that would work. It did. JIM.
