Clutch fan...see how it spins!

Okay, so I'm overheating...big deal. It doesn't make me less of a man....

When the rig is totally warmed up (230 or so) :) and I manually spin the clutch fan, with the engine off of course, it spins....it doesn't spin easily and free, but if I give it a good whirl it continues another 1/4 to 1/2 turn.

Is the clutch fan bad?

Sounds like it's going - it should be fairly stiff at operating temperature.

Also, if it's more than three or four years old, it's getting close to shot. When you replace it, take a Sharpie pen or an engraver and initial and date the replacement. Makes it easier to keep track of what's going on - I tend to date pretty much all maintenance items...
