ATTN: Those equipped w/factory skids

Don't know if this has ever happened to anybody else here but for some reason the front support bolts for my steering skid-plate sheered and the skid swung down against the tie-rod and locked the steering, I went off the road because I couldn't get the wheels straight again.

I'm fine and so is the XJ but I just wanted to put out a warning for those w/factory skid plates, it could have been alot worse.

Ohhh but then you loose that underbody streamlining :D
besides, mine keeps that under engine bib in place...
 
When I had my bumper off, I noticed those front three bolt are self tappers so I put a washer and nut on them. So far I've noticed the skid is good for keeping the rubber splash guard on and making a good bow wave. Thanks for the heads up.
