chopping rear bumper

this isn't so much for functional purposes as it is for aesthetic reasons... has anyone chopped their OEM rear bumper to make it look better? i trimmed up the rear quarter about a 4 inches or so, (i basically folded up the first bend) removed the rear plastic corners, and trying to make the back look a bit more appealing.
