Paint question

Not sure if this is the right forum for this as there is no Bodywork/Paint forum ...

I've got a 99 Sport with the body colored bumpers and black endcaps. Has anyone tried painting these black endcaps to match the body color? They are textured rather than smooth so I'm unsure as to how they'd look or even hold paint. I'd like to do the same for the bodyside molding. Any thoughts or experiences would be appreciated.

Prepping plastic for paint is always fun. Make sure it's real clean, and make sure you get a paint that flexible. Most paint shops can add some additives to help with that. Are you going to get body matched paint from a paint shop or just rattle can it something close?
