i am running deaver 5.5 coils 280# spring rate. i am going to order bilstein 7100
shocks. i just put springs in and took out swaybar.i run whooped out fire roads and
gravel pits no rockcrawling.have full cage fuel cell with 14" bilsteins thru floor in rear
255/70 in rear.truck is only driven on road to get to 4x4 areas.

275/78 will be a good start for stock 7100 valving. The next jump up is a big one, to 360/80.

You may need more rebound control with 280# springs, but you'll just have to decide once they are on. Re-valving is easy with the Bilstein kit: http://www.rovertym.com/7100/index.htm

Understanding Bilstein Valve Ratings:

Damping forces of Bilstein valvings for Off-Road are measured in Newtons at a velocity of 0.52 m/s (approx. 20 inches/sec).

Rebound force is the first number, followed by compression force
(rebound / compression). Conventionally, the ratings are written as one tenth the damping force in Newtons.

EXAMPLE: Valve rating : 275 / 78

Higher numbers mean higher (firmer) damping forces and vice versa. For example, 360/80 has more control (is firmer) than
275/78, while 170/60 has less control (is softer) than 275/78.

I'm thinking that a modified sway bar rather than no sway bar, is a better bet. Your bombing down your favorite fire road and hitting large whoooops, and by removing your anti-sway system completely you loose a large portion of your self correcting ability....
Slow crawling you ain't doing.....
