Searched for this issue, but have not come up with anything.
Anyways, I have a 231J with HD SYE and 2Lo; when I put the transmission in reverse in either 2HI or 4HI, i get some grinding and don;t move, like the gears aren't catching. However, in 4LO or 2LO reverse works just fine. Any forward gear works just fine wether it's in HI or LO.
Opened up the case today, and there was a bunch of metal on the magnet, but nothing big.
This is my best guess as to the root of the problem....but want to know what caused this so I can prevent it from happening again.
