Slave and clutch quick help

Sons putting his slave in, new clutch and new tranny. Says it grinds, I figure they put something in wrong and the slave is not pushing the clutch in far enough. Most likely suggestions please, I'm at work, he's an hour away...
 
I have only done two complete clutch replacements on XJs so my experience is limited. But, assuming you have the external slave cylinder, you can try a gravity bleed, although it is not DC recommended, but this procedure took care of some initial grinding.

Another time, and after talking to the LUK technician, driving it a couple of days took care of the grinding. The tech indicated the clutch/pressure plate separation is quite small.
 
Clutch was in wrong.......
