(since it won't let me post in modified, GRRRR)

i plan on installing my used rear hitch today (for recovery only) and i need to know what size bolts to go get.

my xj has factory skids, so i have the factory nutstrips already installed but i don't know what size bolts i need for the other 4 holes (thread and lenght).

i think i need some washers as spacers too (to make up for the gas tank skid).

thanks

They are metric. 12mm I think, but I don't recall the thread pitch. Try a search -- I know this has been discussed in the past.

The bolts are M12 X 1.75 X 40mm CL8.8 and should be long enough to make it through the steel skid. You'll need 2-½" washers to use as spacers for the front bolt/s of the skid plate.

I would also use a good dose of LocTite, blue formula, or red if you have access to a impact wrench. I kept hearing a clunk when towing junk and traced it down to a missing hitch bolt. Good Luck.
