I hate asking stupid Q's but.....

... I'm buying an ARB front bumper used this weekend. It's coming off a '90 XJ and mine's a '98. Other manufacturers list the same part #'s for their bumpers '84-01 but ARB lists a different one. Anyone know if it'll work before I shell out hundreds of $$$?

Seriously though, I think the difference would be where the bumper wraps around the fenders.
On early XJs, the fender extends down farther. Yours stops at the wrap around bumper cap/flare junction.
Everything else should be OK, or close enough to adapt without a lot of work.

Most people put the earlier year bumper on the newer XJ, less chance of hitting the wrap around with a tire on full stuff...it will be fine...
