does anyone in portland know of a good machine shop or engine rebuilders that they would recomend. We just don't have any over here on the coast.

Here in Longview we've got a place called Castle Automotive Machine Inc.
They are one of the shops that I considered using when I was looking into getting my engine rebuilt. They seem to be a quality shop. They aren't too far from you so give em a call and see what what they can do for you.

I thought I would mention them as it may be a bit closer than Portland.

thanks for the info, wrecked. that is a shorter drive

avanteone. I got a engine that I would like to start building into a stroker,
For right now I would like to sit down with someone to make sure I get everything I need to do it, I got a couple samples from dr.dynos site on what parts to get. I need to get a idea of what this is all gonna cost me.

I think what I need is a short block done, I can handle putting the head together and all the exterior crap, I just don't want to put this thing together and have it blow on me.
