CB antenna (not mounting) question

Hey guys, I have a Wilson 500 stainless whip and I'd like to mount the antenna on a different mount because it's too tall for my roof and doesn't sit well on my rear bumper. My question is does anyone know if that mast will work ok on a different mount since the Wilson mag base is loaded?

The stainless whip and load coil will screw onto any similar threaded mount.... whether it be magnetic or hard mounted.... The magnetic base is just something the antenna assembly attaches to.
You will have to tune the SWR once you have attached the antenna.
Ensure the new mount has a good ground or you will end up with a bad SWR.

The load coil is inside the base of this one. There isn't any load on the antenna itself (unless I'm missing something).

OOOPS.....
Thought the 500 had the same design mount as the 1000 making it removable from the magnet, but it isnt.....

Can probably reuse the stainless whip on another antenna setup.... BUT... why would you want to....
Suggest you purchase a Wilson 1000 hard mount and sell the 500.
I have had a 1000 for over 8 years on my 98 XJ and run a 5000 on my other truck.
Wilson makes an OUTSTANDING antenna.... which ever one you use.

It was free..... *LOL* My mom gave it to me because she took her CB out of her car and it was just sitting in the garage. Oh well.......

Guess I'll have to come up with a mount for the 2' Firestik then. I'll just have to put a spring on it so I don't snap it off.
