yakima cargo box W/ factory rack?

it seems possible but will the factory 98 cherokee cross members support a cargo box. seems like it would work but i would rather not find out the hard way, Any body out there have any experiance with this setup

yeah you can do that, you just need to buy the "mighty mounts" from yakima. I get all my rack stuff from orsracksdirect.com, good prices, they have yakima and thule. Just make sure all the screws holding your factory rack and cross bars down are tight and it should be no prob, although I will say its obviously more stable to mount it on the aftermarket feet and cross bars
