Noticed the other day that my resevior bottle was completely void of coolant with the exception of a thin layer of gunk in the bottom, i figured the warning light for low coolant would've come on

does anyone know when it is triggered??

What year Fred?

you have the idiot lights, and not the gauges?? That light is for coolant temp, not the level.

You should find out where the coolant is going.

"Coolant warning lignt?" Are we talking temperature activated, or coolant level?

I've not seen any "level" triggered lights, but if the temperature doesn't rise to a certain level, the light (tempeature-triggered) won't come on. Just because the coolant is a little low in the tank (again, what year?) doesn't mean that there isn't good circulation, no steam pockets, and good heat transfer. You'd be surprised...

i really didn't think there was a sensor for the coolant level in these jeeps, but as i was looking at the fsm i noticed where a "coolant level lamp" was mentioned and since my coolant was low i started thinking...................

nevermind then i guess, lol
