fuel pump relay anomaly

Has anyone heard of this issue before? On a '93, the fuel pump relay doesn't click, so the truck won't start. If you turn the key off & back on, the relay clicks very rapidly for a few seconds (maybe 20 or 30 so times) then it will start. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks, Scotty.

That sounds to me like your IAC is sticking.
The clicking is it resetting back to idle

It's definitely the fuel pump relay clicking very fast, & if it doesn't click like that (20 or so times in a few seconds) & then stop, it has no fuel pressure. It must be something that controls the fuel pump relay. All grounds were cleaned & resecured (batt, block, etc.)

have you tried replacing the relay?

Affirm, swapped the A/c & then the ABS relays, no change. The ECU will control that relay, right?

Sorry, I meant ASD relay, not fuel pump relay. A little different....

Well, all better now. The Cam signal sensor went out, so the PCM was triggering the ASD relay, but I don't know why it cycled so fast or often...???
