leaf springs diference

Panama XJ

NAXJA Forum User
I need to replace my coil and leaf springs, every time I hit a bump on street the bumps stops hits the bottom, but I found 5 different leaf springs and 2 diffents coil springs for my XJ 95 4WD. What difference they have? I want heavy duty standard height (my XJ is a street machine that twice a year carry heavy loads and some times haul my 23 feet boat but no rock crawl).
Coil Springs:
52001125
52001790
Leaf Springs:
52000051AB
52000706AB

4886186AB
4886187AB

Are you sure it is the springs? Most stock XJ's measure 17.5" front and 17" rear, measuring from the bottom of the plastic fender flare to the center of the wheel. Gas shocks offer better control of the axle movement than cheaper generic replacement shocks. My parts list has 17 different part numbers for coil springs. Try these 2 places for the new springs, they both list just standard and heavyduty.

It measure 16.5" in front and 16" in the back, front and back bump stop rubber no longer exist. Six month ago I changed the stock gas shock for Rancho 5000 and the Rancho sucks. I'm gonna change them for bilstein or Koni ones.

push on your jeep and if it continues to move more than three times your shocks are more than likely done. stock leafs are more or less flat that Iv'e noticed and if the arn't rated for a heavy load (any thing over stock capacity) they will begin to cavitate. Use to have an 96 that came with a 3" lift. (extended shackles and 1.5 blocks) Filling it up with camping gear and a canoe made it ride like it was popping a wheelies. Could have cut back on the quanity of beer and cured it but then again...
