Making my own BPE's

OK, so here is the design:
shockmount.jpg

The plan is to take 1/8" steel angle iron and 1/8" flatstock and make a bracket out of them. The red line indicates welds (they are mirrored welds on each sides, as in each angle gets one weld on each side).

What do you guys think? the idea is to gain about 1" ~ 1.5" (actually probably no more then 1.25") of shock length. I'm also thinking about making something similar for the front as well...

THanks

not sure if you already know this so i'll tell ya before ya put some time into these things. The frame brackets from a rear swaybar could'nt work any better as BPE's. just pick up a pair from the yard.
