1993 4dr 4.0 aw4. during firm braking there is a grinding noise. almost sounds like driveshaft splines. i am sure it is not the brakes. any ideas would be really helpful. thanks in advance everyone.

well thats what it sounds like. i haven't had the time to get into much. but if it is the driveshaft splines, what would cause that?

is it a grinding noise or maybe more of a fast heavy clicking sound?
do you have ABS? my wifes van has ABS and it makes a clicking sound when she stops ( final few feet before van comes to a complete stop)

no ABS, guess i should have put that. it def. sounds like splines slipping or sumthing of the sort.

hey mine grinds all the time in the front, but it just turn the radio up, but then the radio broke so maybe i should do something about it
