removing stock brake lines

so i am swapping a newer d35 into my 88. the only thing that's holding the old axle on is the brake line. haynes says "remove flexible brake line fitting." how? the rubber hose has one of those cooling system crimped fittings on it and i don't know how to get it out of the block. i was going to remove the two hard lines l+r but they don't seem to want to move either. either way, we cut the rubber hose on the new axle so should i just cut this one and finger it out later? thanks in advance. dave.

edit: the new 35 is from a 94 and the block is a little different, anyone know the specifics on this?

The block has two hard lines that screw into it on either side. But if your taking the axle out just unscrew the hose at the bodyside and pull the clip holding it in the bracket.
