My guage in in my 89 cherokee is off. I replaced the sender on the cylinder head and checked all connections all good can it just be the guage? it happened after my motor swap, everything else is fine just the sender was dead so i replaced now it reads at 230 and its actually at 195 and the sender has been tested ok with 2 different senders any other ideas?

I did the same as you. Then I read on here some where about removing the gauge cluster. I found a soldered circuit going to the temperature gauge burnt. I ended up putting a wire jumper to bypass the burnt up solder circuit. You can test it before putting the dash back in. Mine peggs the gauge past 260 while cranking then returns to normal temp. The gauge cluster is very easy to remove.
