My son has 91 xj 4.0 with auto. He replaced the dana 35 with a 1999 29 spline 8.25. The question is now what u joint does he need to buy to fit a dana 35 drive shaft to an 8.25.He tried to buy a standard dana 35 u joint but it is to small on one side, so if any one has a part # I would appreciate it.

I dont think its a u joint issue. Look into getting a 8.25 shaft
The shaft for the 8.25 is alot shorter. JIM.

The Wranglers use a 1330/1310 joint (longer on one side).

The early D35/D44/8.25 driveshafts all used the 1310 joint - if the late 8.25 uses a larger joint its probably the same as the Wrangler. That joint should be widely available - Drivetrain direct or Randys ring & Pinion will know immediatly what you need - but a local parts house should be able to get the Wrangler unit off the shelf.
