Oil Leak - Pictures

I posted awhile back, and was asked for pictures. Anyway, to put it simply, I have an oil leak. I'm not very experienced with cars (yes, I have searched), and not really with Jeeps, either, so, I wanted to be safe and ask people who know what they're talking about.

http://www.disidius.com/car/pic1.jpg - This is a large picture of the general area of the leak. Notice the exhaust pipe. It's kinda covered in oil in one spot, and it looks like it's bent? Is that normal?

http://www.disidius.com/car/pic2.jpg - This is of the transmission and pan. The oil isn't coming from here, but, I think that the oil is dripping off while I'm driving and hitting back there.

http://www.disidius.com/car/pic3.jpg - In between the engine and the transmission. Picture 6 is a similar picture.

http://www.disidius.com/car/pic4.jpg - Eeek. Oil pan.

http://www.disidius.com/car/pic5.jpg - I changed the valve cover gasket not long ago. This isn't a very good picture, but it's the best I could get of that area where it was leaking before. It might be useless, though.

http://www.disidius.com/car/pic6.jpg - Another pic of in between the engine and tranny.

http://www.disidius.com/car/pic7.jpg - Lots of oil.

http://www.disidius.com/car/pic8.jpg - 10 minutes of the car sitting in the driveway.

Normally, the leak wasn't that bad. Maybe a drip so often, but, never that much. Now I'm starting to get worried. I'm on a really, really low budget, so I'm having to watch what I spend and do. I just want to make sure that I get a good diagnosis.

Thanks for all your help!

If you're talking about behind the engine, near the valve cover gasket and stuff...well, it feels oily back there, but, only residue. If I pull my hand out, it won't be covered in oil.

Would the rear main also leak over and around the oil pan, too?

Ditto. However, could not rule out the valve cover - back end especially - without rinsing it off (remmeber to cover your TPS) and re-inspecting. That said, I would just go ahead and do both. If you have not done them yet, they probably both could stand to be changed

i'm with him same issue i replace the valve cover and rear main

the valve cover stopped leaking but i gotta do the rear main over its actually worse now, so be careful when doing the rear main and make sure everything is seated 100% correct and get the 1 piece oil pan gasket

I know NAPA carries them. DO a search of the board and you will find a part #.

Where can you get the one piece gasket?

Here are links for my '91 4.0. You can click around these sites to find one for your year:

http://replacement.autopartswarehou...&category=All&part=Oil Pan Gasket Set&dp=true (the $23.44 part is the one-piece, but they are showing a pic of a multi-piece).

I second the vote for the 1-piece oil pan gasket ... They can be reused, they don't leak, and they are much, much easier to use. I put one on my new motor ... I'm glad I did.

x2 the 4 piece is a pita.....I used the one piece after doing one of the 4 piece p.o.s and the 20.00 that the one piece costs is worth every penny.

I think the 4 piece gasket set should come with a "guaranteed to leak" disclamer on the box....
