Quick answer needed on fuel pump: in the middle

I am replacing my fuel pump on my 88 XJ. I am having problem removing the wiring harness from the mounting plate that goes onto the gas tank. I do not want to tear it up. How is it attached? I have the fuel pump largely up and out and can see where the wires inside the tank attach to the posts on the mounting plate. Just twist and turn?

It don't come off there, it has a 24" cable with a plug close to the filter
