1.Okay it is now time to replace the steering gear box but since my money pit sets in the garage most of the time don't want to spend the $ for a new one. Question is from research I believe that a steering gear box from a 1996 to a 1998 Grand cherokee is the same and will interchange does anyone no if this is correct? It would certainly have less miles on it than a 87.
2. My ujoints are shot on the steering shaft does anyone no if one from a newer cherokee or grand cherokee be the same and interchange?
everything is stock as the select trac only gets used for icy or snowy roads and the only 4 wheelen it does is drive across creeks.
