Silly question - Dana 35 or Chrys 8.25?

99 XJ Sport, 5 speed, 4.0

How do I know if I have the Dana 35 rear or Chrysler 8.25?

Let the bashing begin........

Here is a pictue of my rear end which is a Chrysler 8.25. You can see that, from the front, it is flat on the bottom and then has a lip at the very back.

The Dana 35, as I understand it, will be rounded all the around on the bottom. Here's a site for comparing the cover of different differentials.

One thing is that if you have the ABS brake system then it is a D35 for sure.
