Wiper cowl removal

I'm looking into pulling my wiper cowl off to paint it, I see there are some phillips screws that need to be taken out as well as the wiper arms themselves, is that it? Also how do you remove the wiper arms?

My wiper arms release when you pull them all the way back, there is a little slider you can pull towards the blade when you have them all the way back.

X2, just pull the arm up, pull tab up and the blade arm should lock, grab the arm where it mounts on the shaft and lift it straight off.

I see the slider you're talking about but I can't get it to move even with a vise-grips, any ideas?

The arm must be back all the way or it won't move.

make sure the arm is all the way back and use a flat blade to pry the retainer back.

You'll also have to unplug the wiper fluid lines to remove it for painting

Thanks guys, painted it & it looks great now. I'll post pics after I get my camera sorted out
