I need to change the fluid in the rear diff.

It is an 8.25 equiped with a trac loc.

Will I need to put that diff lube additive from the dealer?

Thanks

Limited slip differentials require the friction modifier. You can also get it from a parts store like NAPA. I have used both the Amsoil version and NAPA's. No problem with either one.

Yes ...

Read the gear oil bottle for details, it will tell you what to do for limited slip applications. Most every synthetic gear oil (I use Mobil 1) already has the limited slip modifier included in the formula (and says that on the lablel).
