Renix Heater Hose Part Numbers

Well I just went through pretty much redoing my cooling system hoses and I figured since I seem to ask for help here every day I'd try to give something back to the community. These are the Gates part numbers for all the heater hoses for 1987-1990 XJs.

From T to bottom of coolant bottle-This one is only available through Jeep/Chrysler that I'm aware of. The Chrysler part number is 5200 3245-about $10.00

From T to water pump pipe-Gates #18413-$9.99

From T to top pipe of the heater core-this one is just like 3 or 4 inches of mass heater hose(I forget the diameter). If you have the parts store look it up there will be a Gates # but it ends up saying they have like 500 feet of it in stock-like $1.00

From heater valve to side of coolant bottle-Gates #18051-$8.99

From heater valve to thermostat housing-Gates #18072-$13.99

From heater valve to bottom of heater core-Gates #28467-$10.49

Honestly for all this stuff it ended up being about $60 and it was well worth it. I tried cobbling it together with mass heater hose and the Gates plastic elbows and I could tell it wasn't gonna hold, there were crimps and stuff in the hoses once I got done, just not a very clean install. Anyway, hope this helps.
Later,
Collin

I'm a good searcher apparently :p

Every other hose i have been able to just use bulk hose for, except for that stupid one that goes from the coolant bottle to the metal "T".
Looks like ill go to the dealer for that one... 10 - 15 bucks isnt to bad.

That's a smoking deal, thanks for posting it up.

Thanks, my local jobber said there was no listing (fools) so now I don't have to stretch bulk hose onto the t-stat housing.

No problem guys, I love the revival of the dead threads :D.

For anyone who is curious, I used the Renix hose kit with tee and the OEM heater valve from Team Cherokee this past winter when I completely redid my cooling system. All parts fit great, and haven't had any issues for the past 10 months. It was well worth the price to avoid having to go to a dealership and two or three parts houses to get all the parts needed.

HTH.

Yeah, better keep this one around--subscribed.

I found this to be a very helpful thread. Thanks!

Here is the current link to the Team Cherokee set of Renix heater hoses:

And here is the current link to the all metal replacement heater control valve by Crown (for those who want to keep the heater control valve):

They also have the T by itself. I can't tell for sure if it's metal or plastic, but it says OEM, so I'd think it should be metal:

Holy cow, this thread is now 10 years old. Thank you for bringing it back up! I rarely work on Renix 4.0s anymore but this is still relevant information.

I don’t know if there is a way I can edit my prior post, but I WOULD NOT recommend anyone buy anything from Team Cherokee. Perhaps they used to be very reputable, but they do not seem to be reputable now. I have found a number of threads in various forums mentioning problems with them. One very frustrated buyer learned the business had changed hands a few years back. They currently have a BBB rating of F because of so many consumer complaints and non-responsiveness from the business.

I would suggest getting the hoses from Napa.
