Center console and heat

My MJ had a sh!tty center console when I got it, I replaced it with a XJ console and they are different (didnt realize this before)

Anyway, the heat that goes to the floor is now vented directly into the console, instead of on my feet (or to the rear in XJ's)

What can I do to get the heat to the floor? Without heating my console? Or should I just block off that "port"

Those ports are for the back seat. I would block them off, but I am sure you could simply use tubing or something to direct the air to your feet.
