window problems, hope you guys can help.

well im new here dont know if you guys can help me. i tried joining two other forums to ask this but they dont allow free email addresses.

my questions is. i working on my grandpas 2002 grand cherokee unlimited.
the window is off the track or something. he said that he went roll it down and it just fell to the bottom of the door. i took the panel off and was looking and didnt see and thing out of the ordnary expect that the cable was really lose. anything you can do to help would be great thanks alot

I would suspect that since it is a Cherokee "Limited" that it has power windows. My first thought would be a bad gear in the window motor (a few missing or worn out teeth). I'm not sure if you can take the motor apart after you remove it, but if you can you should be able to see the teeth.
