If it looks like a plastic jug with brittle hoses coming off it, it's probably the vacuum canister... if it looks like a bomb, it's probably the airbag trigger.

the hose on it goes to the back of the block....? any one know how important it is? i do not think its the air bag sensor...

It is a vacum canister... not to sure on what it goes to but I just relocated mine into the engine compartment

thats the vac canister. you need it for proper heater/defroster function. i also relocated mine up under the hood.
