I am looking at putting rear door switches in my 96 Xj to turn my interior lights on. Since I have a lower trim level in my xj it was not equiped with these. The wireing is there in the B pillar, or close to it, so all you need is the switch and pigtail. I did some reading and searching and since I didn't find what I was looking for I figured I would post for info sake...
The door switch part number is the same for the front and rear doors for years 92-98
part number #56007300
price from dealership is $11.25
Other years will probably have a different plug with a different part number
I am sure you could find these at a junkyard or online for much cheaper.
