Whinch with stock bumper?

In my 88 XJ owners manuel they have a picture of a winch behind the stock bumper with the fairleed in the middle of the bumper. Does anyone know if this is still avaliable or if their is some other means to mount a winch on the front with out new bumber or front end receiver hitch?

There are occasionally some available; 91Jeep Project (DJ) recently bought one off eBay and is trying to get it assembled. He may correct my description, but it's a tray that the winch sits on that pushes the bumper forward about 3 inches or so. It has reinforcing brackets similar to the towhook brackets since you need to distribute the pul across both horns of the 'frame' to be safe...
