Cutting out

I have a 93xj 4.0 h.o. and sometimes when I am driving the engine will just cut out and I'll start slowing for about a second. I was thinking maybe the fuel pump. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem before. Would appreciate your input thanks.

fuel pump could do this, or a coil going bad. i had a coil go on me down the highway-it didn't take more than 15 minutes to be totally hosed, but it was easy to check-just pulled a plug boot off enough to see whether it was delivering a spark or not (note: if you don't know to keep fingers out of the way of high voltage, don't do this). i've also had CPSes cause intermittent cutouts, but if you are still moving and power comes back without recranking the engine, i would think fuel pump/regulator/etc or coil.
