Towing a Jeep

I need to tow my XJ back to VA. It has an automatic trans. Can I place the xfer case and transmission in Neutral for the tow?
I was thinking of installing a tow bar to pull it with my F-150, but I may have to opt for a car trailer.

Just put the transfer case in Neutral if it's 4wd, if it's 2wd you will either need to take the drive shaft off or rent a trailer.

Xfer case in nuetral, trans in park, Key turned far enough to unlock steering..but not far enough to turn on power.

That works for mine with the 231 xfer case.

AND DON'T BACK UP!
