What is the size hitch (class) that should be on the rear to put in a d-ring shackle to do the job of yanking you out of trouble?? And what inch should that shackle be around...2"?? I only ask because i bought my XJ with a tiny hitch that i need to get rid of !!!

Thanks

can't help you much with the hitch but the shackle should be at least .75 inches as it would be rated to 6.5 tons (should be plenty) smaller ones have a high enough wieght rating but dont deal well with pulls off of center.

Go with a Class III hitch and you're good for what your Jeep can handle. There are lots of different bits...hooks, d-rings or pintles that lock into a 2" receiver so take your pick.
