I am getting excited. I have a few things to work on in the next two weeks. I need to:

- find a Hidden Hitch for the '98 and the '89
- new ball joints on the '98 (really '89 front axle)
- pull off my fornt 231 yoke and re-real it (leaking slightly after HDSYE install)
- finish installing 2nd half of onboard air (or sell air tank and buy CO2 tank)
- clean out pop-up camper
- get together raffle giveaways

so far this week:

installed new shackles
relocated front brake lines
changed diff fluid
had both shafts balanced
new $kid
tightened up front end (think i finally cured DW... knock on wood)
bumpstop adjustments
swapped leaf packs (driver<–>passenger) and new center pins (thanks fatwreck)
fixed vent tube leak (hopefully)

yet to do:

finish rear bumper project
re-install front shaft
secret project ;)
something else i'm sure i'm forgetting...

terry

lets see

beef up axle lca's
new shocks in frt.
raise rear shock mounts
change ball joints
hope fully get my steering beefed up. cough cough if some one reads this
alloys frt/rear (if everything works right)

John... you should have mentioned this earlier. I would have brought one with me today at lunch. I have one sitting in my garage that I pulled when I installed the bumper. Wiring harness and all..

lemme know if you want it and you can permanently "borrow" it.. :)

my list before cofest (in order of importance):

- trim a half inch from the back of my front fenders and flares
- build a kegerator for the garage to keep the Guiness cold
- purchase a new wheel
- install rock lights
- get t-shirts

Lets see....

-Finish the rock lights I started installing at the LAST Co-fest
-New wheels/tires
-Determine if front squeal is new waterpump goin' bad and replace
-Install CB in tow rig
-Finish trailer mods
-Locate some spare front shafts
-Get Led drunk enough to sell me "White Trash" nice and cheap....

If I can find the time:
-Cut and fold rear lower quarters
-Cut out rockers and weld in "fatwreck" style rockers

Oh, and pick on Daryl some more....... :laugh3:

1. Get some type of matching tail lights.
2. Get rear shocks. (nope that was last year.)
3. Get some matching tail lights.
4. Put air in the drivers side front tire.
5. Oil and grease everything.
6. Get some type of matching tail lights.
7. Rebuild the jack, shovel carrier, and tool drawer that I took out after it got wet.

I hope that about it.

Oh yea, 7. Get some matching tail lights.

All I have to do is finish painting the rig, doing the drive train swap, install the new interior including dash, brake booster, steering column. Finish setting up the front D44, fabricate the radius arms, and a few other minor tasks.

oh is that all? :wierd:

1. Replace Harmonic balancer and idler pulley.
2. Wire and plumb air system to at least have the rear locker working.
3. Most frustrating, fix the brakes. All new rear D-44 brake stuff, seems to work. New power booster. It's been bled 3 quarts worth. Everything worked before the axle swap. Master cylinder is fairly new, front brakes were fine before.
4. Ask the wife's permission. :kissyou:
5. Finish landscaping chores in the backyard and cleaning the basement before wife's party on Saturday so I can do all the above. :laugh3:

Move rear shock mounts outbard a little bit.
Make and install a t-case skid plate
Weld plates on LCA axle mounts
Change oil on wife's XJ
And,if time permits,install my cage.
I think thats everything.

I might have to do that too, but mine has been leaking so inconsistently that I'm not sure if I want to bother.

No problem. Did that do anything to help your lean at all? Are you still going to buy new leaf springs?

We're closing it down.Doesn't fit in our budgets anymore.I am eventually going to buy an old gas station with 2-3 bays to work on our junk but thats not for a while yet.If I didn't have all these airplanes in my big(70x55) shop I could just use that but the airplanes pay the bills :)
