I have a 96 Chero, and under the rear seat on the drivers side, there is a small box with two stainless bolts in it, and a plug going into it...
anyone know what this is?

Thanks
Rob

Air-bag controller??

If it is, it may need to be moved -- check recalls or bulletins.

I'm with Lou - sounds like your airbag controller. It not supposed to get wet and there is a recall to have it moved.

Upon closer inspection, I checked the recall DB and that recall is for 97-99 models. I guess that's not it.

Do you have anti-lock brakes? If you do I believe it has something to do with them. JIM.

Its a g-switch for the ABS. Should have an arrow pointing forward on the case.

This should be on the passenger side.

I've seen small boxes in cars (works a bit like an RF adapter for a TV, but with this one, only audio) with aftermarket CD changers, but you would know if you installed that yourself. Other than that, I'm not sure, and really don't know much about it.
