97 parking brake cable issues

OK, the cable seems to be long enough (no binding, no stretching and so on) but after I replaced a worn transmission mount yesterday it's rubbing now against the cv joint by the tcase. I had to zip tie it to my frame rail after I got to work as a temporary solution, but I'm trying to figure out what would be a better solution and I have no idea. Did anyone run into something like that before?

Yup, been there... The radius of the cable would rub against the SYE on mine... Took a trip to the hardware store purchased a cable clamp [Metal with rubber cushion; typically an 'electrical item] and a self tapping sheet metal screw, drilled a small pilot hole in the floorboard [under neath vehicle] screwed it in... Haven't had any problems since, and only cost ~$2.00

Will.
