aux fan

It's not going to hurt directly. It is only needed when the engine fan can't keep up, or when the AC is on.

The biggest problem is going to be a tendency to overheat. Watch the temp gauge closely and get the fan going as soon as able. The 4.0 is a solid engine but like any, you can kill it easily by overheating.

Bones :skull1:

not me......!

Even though the 01 FSM seems to insinuate that the "aux fan" is
part of the "max cooling" option or operates when the air
conditioning is on - I wouldn't do it. It does list it's boundaries
as 217F to 223F.

In stop and go, or city traffic, (summer - without the AC) I find
that the aux fan comes on and off quite a bit. It roars - so you
can't miss it.

Good luck!

I'm trying to remove the A/C. It doesn't work anyway. Did any non-A/C Jeeps come without the aux fan?
