Sensor Question?

I have been wondering what the little sensor towards the rear drivers side of the HO head is (not sure if it's on renix motors?) I broke it and can't find any information on that sensor or what it does. It sits in the coolant and Iooks like a small CTS sensor with one wire. Any ideas? Is it just an accessory idiot/temp light sensor/switch ?

Pretty sure it's for the temperature gauge in the instrument panel. Hope this helps.

Not only possible. For a 1993 such as you have that is the case. The sensor in the thrmostat housing sends data to the ECU. The one in the head feeds the gauge on the dashboard.

In the future you should mention the year in your post. The XJs aren't all alike, and it would save people having to look up your profile.
