Hi
Going to swap the 8.25 27 spline with a newer 29 spline, non ABS, axle. What more needs to be done to hook the disk brakes up from the old drum format. Cables, lines, brake boosters?
Thanks

I copied this from a write-up by Timmay over on Jeepin.com. I just don't know how to post up "click me links" to the write up. It just gives you the basic idea on what you'll need.

This will explain converting the rear end of a Chryco 8.25 rear axle from drum brakes to disc brakes using '96 ZJ parts.

Whats needed:

2- '96 ZJ Caliper mounting brackets (dealer only/junkyard)
2- '96 ZJ Backing plates/dustshields. (dealer only/junkyard)
2- '96 ZJ Rear Rotors
2- '96 ZJ Rear Calipers
2- '96 ZJ Rear soft lines
2- '96 ZJ Calipers (loaded calipers include pads)
2- '96 ZJ Rear Banjo Bolts
2- Quarts of gear oil. Your choice on viscosity.
1- Small bottle of DOT3 brake fluid
1- Tube of RTV silicon

Get the following if you want an e-brake:
1- Set of '96 ZJ e-brake shoes
1- E-brake hardware kit

Here ya go... No sense in re-writing whats already out there... I've done it, and IMO it's worth it if you get the parts for the right price...

Use the stock ebrake lines - see the third link for details... You will have to bend your factory hard lines to accomodate the ZJ's soft lines... You also need to fab a bracket (or hose clamp) to hold the ZJ's soft line... Other than that it's fairly simple...

Will.
